Q: What are the food options in the hospital?
|
A: The hospital does not have a full-service cafeteria. Vending machines are located in the hospital dining area. This area is open 24/7 and is located between the patient room wing and the Imaging Department. In addition to typical vending machine fare, hamburgers, sandwiches and other microwavable items are available for heating and eating. There are numerous restaurants located within 5 minutes driving time. Some offer delivery service to the hospital. Inquire with a receptionist in one of our lobby areas for further information.

Q: Is there a pharmacy on-site?
|
A: No. However, there is a pharmacy located across the street from the Breast Cancer Center inside of the Houma Urgent Care Center. Their hours are 8 AM – 6 PM. They may be contacted at 985-580-9990.

Q: Does the hospital offer wireless service?
|
A: Yes. Patients and guests can access the internet, free of charge, through our secure high-speed wireless network. You will need your own laptop with standard Internet browser and Wi-Fi capability along with a proper operating system (Windows 98, 2000 or XP, Mac or Linux). Inquire at any waiting area for log-in instructions.

Q: Where can I get a cup of coffee?
|
A: Coffee is always available and free of charge in all waiting areas. Vending machine coffee is also available for purchase 24 hrs/day in the hospital dining room. For those remaining overnight with a patient, complimentary coffee is available 24/7. Just ask your nurse.

Q: Is there a Gift Shop?

A: Yes, at the Breast Cancer Center. The Breast Cancer Center is a short 2 minute walk from the main hospital building.

A: Yes, we offer free Comcast TV cable service. Every patient room has a 27” flat screen TV.

Q: Are children allowed to visit patients?

A: Children must be 12 or older to visit patients, unless prior arrangements have been made.
